> The government said Monday that state agencies will have to recode their eligibility systems to adjust for the reduced benefits, and it is unclear how quickly state systems will be able to do so. It warned that in some states, these system changes "will take anywhere from a few weeks to up to several months."

> The Trump administration has previously said that calculating partial payments is a logistical nightmare that could take time to arrange in the middle of a shutdown.

Every single action taken by this administration is just profoundly stupid. Maybe they can find a nice outside donor to help fund actually feeding people like the other stupid shit they're doing if they're not willing to illegally move money around like they've done every second for the past year.

    >this administration is just profoundly stupid.

IIRC, you just can't fix profound. Or something like that.

When you do the math it's just the latest confirmation of Trump's legendary lack of acumen when it comes to financial operation, combined with his abysmal deal-making and lack of ability to negotiate on behalf of Americans in particular.

Now that you can put a number on it, looks like only about half as much as what it takes to be an honest businessman or dealmaker of any kind, compared to all previous Presidents.

And many of them did not even claim to be businessmen at all.

So today's just another day when Trump himself emphasizes how much he continues to fail worse than ever, if he's trying to compare to previous officeholders like Bush and Obama. As I've heard more lifelong Republicans saying recently, "Trump can't reach high enough to tie Ronald Reagan's shoes". I'm going to remember that one ;)

Trump can't even get halfway there, when it counts the most.

The math as it stands doesn't lie.

I'm the first to admit he's doing the best he can, and his heart is really in it 100%.

As can be seen Trump just doesn't have quite the heart for hungry Americans that would be needed to come close to what Biden and everybody else was capable of, and I agree with many who say that Biden was a little too tired to do his absolute best all the time too.
